Did anybody read Jake Bittle's recent article???

I was waiting for some USPS and/or NRLCA (same same, really) Kool Aide drinker to jump on that thread and start yelling at Jake, saying FILE THE DAMNED GRIEVANCE... like that's somehow the solution to everything...

How dare you have the audacity to try to blame the totally screwed up SYSTEM that IS the USPS & NRLCA... it can't be their fault, it HAS to be YOUR fault...

So anyways, somebody please jump on here and start explaining to us why it really IS ALL our fault...

The USPS is REALLY a wonderful employer... and the NRLCA the finest union ever created... Surprised

It's ALL the fault of those DAMNED carriers...

I'm shaking it, Boss... I got my mind right now, Boss...

Yeah Suh, Yeah Suh... 3 Bags FULL...  Embarassed

Laugh

my dear D.B.   It will always be our fault...Incompetent jerks always blame the people below them. We are the unlucky ones at the absolute bottom who have no one below us.

"That rabble rousing, gunslinger of a reporter had it in for management and the union from the get go. He must have dreamed up everything he wrote. it could not possibly be that way in real life.' Oh, what's that you say...The only people in usps who know what real life is is the carriers? We ll just because you actually bring the mail to our customers and don't process reports, dream up programs, slogans and useless reports, attend and listen to endlessly boring meetings and seminars. You don't have black belt certification in complicated solution processing to simple problems, just who do you think you are? We are management and we've been trained, coddled and made to feel important. You, the refuse of humanity, should just be glad you have jobs."

There does that make you feel better D.B.?

Sad part is, they've convinced other carriers that we should all pile on and blame each other as well...

It's not our fault. Taking advantage of employees ignorance of their real rights is what mngt does.

I get to deal with a real gem. It says i dont care about You, your stupid union, or what rights you think you have with your contract .  I don't have to abide by it, this is my office and I'll run it however I want.

I've had grievances ripped up and tossed back at me, and step 1 meeting refused and denied checked. There, take that to your union.

I think everyone on this site should be their local steward. Cause the truth Is, your ADR and DR both don't give an ef about your situation and don't have time for you.

Our PM said EXACTLY that when the came to our office about 2 1/2 years ago and it's  been a nightmare ever since. The stew resigned about a day or so after that!

I've been listening to Jordan Peterson on YouTube. He's helped me find my confidence. Enough so that I'm not backing down. If it takes 100 grievances, then so be it.

The Kool Aide drinkers and those that are trying to sell us some of that Kool Aide... and those Donut (grievance) bakers that wanna sell us some donuts (grievances)... well they don't wanna acknowledge, that in the real world, where the rubber meets the road, and where we have to deliver the mail... we got other things to deal with EVERY DAY, and really don't have all of this spare time they think we have, to be running around doing the NRLCA's job for them, when they themselves (NRLCA) won't do it themselves...  Frown

I think it's time the NRLCA "Steps Up"... WTH am I paying them several hundreds of $$$ dollars a year for???  Confused

So what do you to do when one does that?  Isn't that a violation of labor laws?  If it were me, I would be calling the NLRB.

If your office is being run by a Tyrant in your eyes or any other carrier in office and this Tyrant has time to spend on the workroom floor, not enough grievances have been submitted. Tie their hands up with these until paperwork and daily " Hug a Fest" conferences can't be meet because of a REP for any craft in their office at this time.

Got rid of 2 in my office this way. Moved PM to a smaller office decided to promote the " devils son in law" to position. Same thing. Gone to a smaller 1-2 route fiefdoms.

It will take time to accomplish this feat. Took 2 years for my office of city rural mix.

The stew then files a grievance for not settling at the lowest level, sends the original grievance on up to the DR for a step 2 with the proper documentation and enjoys winning both.  🙂

p.s. and every time that it violates the same afterwards, attaches an increasing monetary penalty until district slaps him down or moves him.  gotta fight the battles to win the war.  😉

Yup...after our hostile takeover last year, the pm strutted around pounding his chest bellowing how he always gets what he wants...his way....or the high way...

Just received settlement on my first 2 grievances - one for 2800$ and the other for 766$....and...I'm just getting started ..

Yeah...how's that working out for ya...

The sad part is, how many carriers are being ripped off nationwide!, ...that don't know any better!?

--  Sounds like it is your turn to strut around the office!!  Keep it up!

--  Just don't be like the girl in the credit card commercial who yells "I got my money, I got my money!"

At the risk of sounding mean, cold, callous, whatever...whose fault is that?

Yup.

I'm blaming the carriers.  It is incumbent upon us all to take personal responsibility to educate ourselves.

And I'm getting kind of tired of being called a kool aide drinker.

What I am is an informed carrier who isn't afraid to beard the lion in its den...and then put it in a cage.
