So today the supervisor said she got an email that they need pictures of the inside and outside of all POV that are used on the routes. Has anyone else had this happen? What are they up to?

-- If manglement has not yet taken pictures of your POV, go over it with the proverbial fine-toothed comb to ensure some mail piece has not literally slipped through or into a crack.

"What are they up to?"

-- Seeing if they can put LLV-area stickers 1 through 6 in your POV?

It's not new policy. Passed through here a couple of years ago. There is a rating system being used for this this depending on images.

What happened in my area from the pics of the LLVS and appearance submitted was over the course of next few VMF visits the cosmetic issues were addressed.

Touch up paint, missing rivets replaced, new company logo stickers etc.

Doing the least work possible for the most money.

ummm last I checked pictures where a no no at the post office.  Last thing I'm doing without contacting my DR or hell even national is asking why they want pictures of the inside of my  car.  That just doesn't sound right.  If district wants to inspect my car, they can get off their lazy ass and come on in to the post office and actually have a conversation.

I'm guessing the pictures are to establish a baseline for the condition of your vehicle,
WHY ?
The "Runners" in my office routinely come back to the office looking like they were in a demolition derby, dent, scratches and parts hanging off their vehicles, without a word said about how this happened.
So DB and others I doubt they care what your POV looks like as long as it keeps moving, ( as long as you don't have a political sticker, Confederate Flag, or anything that might offend some "Snow Flake" on it )

inthesticks -- "ummm last I checked pictures where a no no at the post office."

-- It is taking pictures inside the post office without permission that is the big NO-NO.

-- One year the day before a count, the supervisor requested I accompany him around the work floor and to take pictures as proof the office was "clean" of any mail.

-- Be sure it is manglement who is taking the pictures with their camera and be sure to request copies!

Glad I'm retired.... There would be laughter while they took pictures of my cosmetically rearranged Chrysler van.. I was always hoping to have some inspector look at a dent and ask if it was an accident? "No it was planned and that damned garbage can never blocked the mailbox again." "I call it proactive customer interaction."

LOL... several years ago we had a sub who was hail on wheels... anybody near the street would clear out when they saw her coming... she drove some sort of Chrysler mini-van and had knocked the passenger-side mirror off, but it still dangled a couple of feet down by the wire...  she was a sight to see...  🤣

And then we had some clown who liked to go around slapping bumper stickers on peoples cars, for candidates that he KNEW that you DIDN'T like...  🤐

It is probably because someone with enough clout has figured out that the Post Office shouldn't be subsidizing the luxury rides too many people have and want to compile proof of their theory.  They will show that there is literally no difference between POVs and LLVs and will be able to gut EMA and the standards.

Maybe they have no real idea what the POV situation is and this would be by far the easiest on them way to find out.

Of course it could just be that they are looking for a way to harass people some more.
