Had a large opposite side of road parcel today. It's thunder storming. Sign on door "Do not knock". No dry option location to leave parcel. I knock. Hear dogs going bonkers, hear customer struggling with dogs. Hear swearing.
Customer opens door and starts complaining to me about my inability to read sign. My illiteracy caused them to be bitten on their hands by their dogs because they fight between themselves when a knock is heard separating the 2 Pugs.
Can't help myself from chuckling and replying "sounds like a training problem". They go on about my lack of empathy for their pain as I walk away.
Of course a call to office generated. PM called me onto the carpet upon return. No fear, go in solo knowing what issue was. Customer admitted in call to office about problem PUGS training, but was not happy about my chuckling and lack of empathy for their anguish. PM couldn't help giggling over issue. From now on weather permitting parcel out in open, signature items leave notice. My call on weather and notice.
Doing the least work possible for the most money.
thunderstorm, no dry place to leave parcel, just tell me it was a case of toilet paper from amazon, with a leave if no response endorsement. thats the one i'm waiting for... a case of unusable tp, might get them to stop ordering it....

yea either drop and go, or just leave a notice in my opinion. At the end of the day not worth the trouble of having the customer call and complain. Even if your side is the right one... Even then I may have thought the lack of training of the dogs, but with the lack of some people's ability to have a conversation without becoming pissy. It just not worth the result at the end of the day. If I'm in that spot, I'm just smiling putting the package at the front door and walking away. My day's happy mood ain't worth some bullshit like that being brought up in my face.
